A review of this evening’s presentation
Emily Dart told us about Bronowski Royal Academy for adults and children
In 2020 it did become a success and is now held at Cowbridge, Colwinston and Caerphilly. Silver Swans are for the over 55s and it was formed to help with posture and strength for people who have never danced before or who have danced in the past and wish to do so again.Older participants might find Pilates and Yoga too much for them, so this is gentle exercise which has physical and mental positives.
Pay and Go makes it more accessible and 10-12 is the usual number in a class
First, we were asked to sit on chairs and listen to relaxing music and for example gentle paddling action with feet and leg work and arm exercises. Standing using chairs as ballet bars,we were then shown and acted out some ballet positions
Finally a demonstration took place of Romeo and Juliet short dance which was great fun
Everyone really enjoyed this presentation and huge thanks were expressed by all and we all hope that Emily Dart can return again.
Thank you to Trish, Chris and Lynne for delicious refreshments and congratulations to those who won the raffle prizes!
The meeting concluded at 9pm
